Communication – we do it all the time. A conversation; a phone call; a text. From a distance; virtually; e-mail; video. Interactive webinar; networking platform; instant messaging. Face-to-face conversations…remember those?
It’s one thing to have someone tell you what she or he has on their mind, but what are they communicating to you without saying a thing? A blink…an eye roll…hair play…a grin. What’s behind all this unspoken language….?
If you have ever wondered what it means, join me during this On Track session dedicated to the ‘rules’ and interpretation of body language. We’ll explore a few common translations, a few myths and some of the ‘not-so-forthright’ images of communication without the spoken (or written) word. While sometimes subtle and at times painfully obvious, it’s part art part science, with plenty of grey area to muddy the waters. Stop in for a look at what’s really going on behind that gesture!
